## Neighborhood
Ballsbridge is on the south side of the city. It has been the urban retreat of choice for Dublin's wealthy citizens since the 19th century. With its posh airs and exclusive residences, Ballsbridge is the home to foreign embassies, several rugby clubs and the Royal Dublin Society with its annual horse show. Of all Dublin areas, Ballsbridge has the least built-up and most 'private' feel. Yet, despite the space and relative tranquility, Ballsbridge is only minutes away from the city centre.
Close to the apartment you’ll find the Aviva Stadium and the RDS Arena. On Pembroke Road, Leeson Street or Morehampton Road, you will find plenty of eateries, coffee shops, groceries shops, bars and restaurants a short walk from the apartment.
Please take a look at the guidebook on my listing for recommended places to eat and drink in the area!
## Transit
The easiest way to get to the property from the airport is by taxi. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes and depending on traffic should cost between €30 - €40.
The most efficient way however, is to take the privately run, luxury coach - the AirCoach. Take either the Greystones coach (702) or the Killiney coach (703) directly from both Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 to the Ballsbridge Hotel stop. There are only a handful of stops before Ballsbridge. Fares are €8.50 single or €14 return with a discount available for booking online. There is a walkway directly from Pembroke Road to Shelbourne Rd and should take c. 2 mins. Alternatively, walk to the nearest corner from the stop (heading back towards town), take the right down Lansdowne Rd, walk 200 yards to the next corner and turn right. You’re on Shelbourne Rd.
From the apartment, you will have easy access to bus routes to city centre right at your doorstep.
Another great way to get around the city is cycling, a 3-day pass costing only €5, with bike stations throughout the city. The nearest bike stand to the property is at Grand Canal Dock.
If you wish to pop out of the city, you can do day trips to other cities and towns in the West and South of Ireland such as Westport, Galway and Cork. There two main intercity train stations in Dublin are called Heuston and Connolly.
## Notes
All plumbing issues previously reported have been fully resolved in September 2020. There has been extensive plumbing and electrical work, there is constant hot water, and my cosy home is now ready to welcome my valued guests once more!
NB: You will need to climb stairs to access the apartment.
