Positive: Without doubt the best place we have stayed in Scalea in 16 years We have been visiting Scalea for 16 years, and TraMonti e Mare is without doubt the best accommodation we have stayed in during all that time. The location is superb, right in the heart of the beautiful Centro Storico and just beside Piazza Maggiore De Palma, one of our favourite little squares in old Scalea. You step outside and you are immediately among the atmospheric old streets, restaurants and bars that make this part of Scalea so special. We stayed in the lower-level apartment and absolutely loved it. The real surprise was discovering the secret lower level — an amazing additional space that gives the apartment so much character and makes it feel completely unique. It was one of those little discoveries that genuinely makes a stay memorable. The apartment itself was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, comfortable and clearly finished with a lot of thought and attention to detail. Despite being right in the historic centre, it also feels peaceful and private. A special mention must go to Francesco and Enerlida, who were two fabulous hosts. They could not have been more welcoming or helpful throughout our stay, particularly with their advice and recommendations on places to visit, eat and enjoy around Scalea. Their genuine warmth and local knowledge added enormously to our experience and made us feel completely at home. Having stayed in many different places in Scalea over the past 16 years, we can genuinely say this one stands out. The combination of the location, quality of the accommodation, character of the building, the fantastic hidden lower level and, most importantly, the wonderful hospitality from Francesco and Enerlida made our stay very special. An easy 10/10 for us and the first place we will look to book when we return to Scalea. Highly recommended.
