Positive: The apartment itself was absolutely fabulous. Very clean and comfortable, lots of space and great amenities including shampoo and conditioner.
Negative: The host was initially very pleasant and accommodating. During our communication via phone and booking messages, he was polite and even agreed to a later checkout time of 11:30am, as we didn’t arrive until 6am due to significant delays with our flight. This gave us only a few hours to rest and get ready after a long journey, so we appreciated the flexibility. Unfortunately, our experience changed during checkout. While we were preparing to leave, the host approached my sister-in-law, who had come to collect us, and asked if she was picking up “the two.” After she confirmed, he began complaining and used inappropriate language, stating that we were supposed to check out at 11:00am and were still “hanging around,” despite having agreed to a later checkout time. He continued speaking negatively about us for several minutes, in what was described as a rude and hostile manner. This was particularly surprising, as none of these concerns were communicated to us directly. As we were leaving, we encountered the host again. While we were locking the door, he abruptly gestured and said there was no need to lock it. He said goodbye, but did not raise any of his earlier complaints with us. Afterwards, my sister-in-law informed us of the interaction. We asked if his tone may have been joking or sarcastic, but she and her boyfriend both felt it was clearly hostile and inappropriate. While the apartment itself was lovely, this experience left a negative impression. A more respectful and direct approach to communication would have made a significant difference.
