Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The property is absolutely stunning. The apartment itself is traditional and homely, equipped with practically everything you could ever need and if it wasn't there, they were happy to try to help you with it. We were provided with a big basket of fresh fruit from the garden and enjoyed eating that each day. We cooked many lovely meals in the kitchen and on the huge private bbq on our balcony. Lidl is not too far away and good for the bulk of shopping to be bought at. The apartment was spacious, spotless and well cared for. We were very warm in the evenings as there was a little heater, it worked very well. We found the beds comfortable and I struggled to get up in the morning because of that! The view from the balcony was gorgeous. In the morning we listened to and watched the birds in the trees and caught some sunshine by midday. In the evenings we saw many beautiful sunsets over the sea and by night time, laid out on the loungers taking in the mind blowing starry night sky. We enjoyed the garden very much and spent time every day looking at the plants and nature. Such a stunning space and crazy to think that it was even more stunning before the loss of so many plants due to the volcano. The pool area was beautiful. I did use the pool and it was extremely cold. I am used to cold water swimming so it didn't deter me. I can imagine in the summer it would be so very refreshing! We took advantage of the games area at night time, playing pool after we had our dinner. We were just asked to cover the table and turn the lights off afterwards. We went out every night with our torches into the garden looking for nature and by the last night had managed to spot several baby and adult gecko's. Incredible creatures that look like baby crocodiles. We also would sit and watch a bat fly circuits through the foliage plants at night. Our hosts were fantastic and made you feel so welcome, like you were family.

Negative: The pool table was quite damaged and made it very comical to play on due the damage to the covering and the split that ran down the middle of the table. I imagine guests had left the cover off and it had been caught by the rain. It would be great to see that repaired for the next time we are there. It wasn't a major issue and we still played and laughed a lot at the unpredictable nature of the table. A very minor point.
