Positive: We thought the unit was spacious and in good condition for a property of its age. The beach is clean with only a small amount of seaweed. The food in the restaurants was very good but over priced in our opinion. The staff was friendly and helpful with some going out of their way to help us when they could.
Negative: Unbeknownst to us since it was not disclosed on the Booking.com website when we booked our reservation in January, our unit was not owned by the hotel. It was privately owned and therefore the hotel said they were unable to fix any of the problems we encountered with the unit. Instead we had to go through a management company called We Host. They were definitely not competent in our opinion. Their communications with us were sketchy and lacking some important instructions about how to use a reserved parking spot. Some of the information they requested from us was sent in a message after we had already arrived at Miami airport. Mind you they had charged our credit card for the full reservation 30 days prior to date of our reservation. When we arrived at the hotel our reservation did not show up in the hotel system so we had to call the management’s customer service and wait while they sent the information to the Ritz. My suggestion would be to book directly with the hotel to avoid dealing with a third party.
Summary: The hotel is quite nice, but our privately owned unit was problematic.
