Positive: Location is awesome. Very private, huge backyard and awesome bushwalk right off the property. There is so much history in that place, including very, very old books and knick knacks all over the place. The kitchen has every pot and pan you could need. Big and (new) fridge. Walking in initially, the place is a mace, with doors and halls everywhere. Very cool. We were there in August so all the extra blankets and electric blankets were much appreciated and needed as it was impossible to warm up even the main living areas. I would attach picture if I could.
Negative: Only after booking were we advised that we have to bring out own firewood and then found two non-working lighters. Staples like coffee and sugar weren't there. Quite a few of the (salad) bowls had stains. One of the pillows had a small blood stain on it. We got the fire on in the small room next to the kitchen but it did not warm the place at all. The BBQ was filthy, full of fat and remains of previous cooking. The property manager Heidi is awesome and explained that they just recently took over management of this property and a full deep clean is planned shortly. She organised for coffee and sugar and lighters and for the BBQ to be cleaned, also threw in some lovely chocolates. In the large living room in the back the oven in the fire place does need a good clean, the ash tray was full with no bucket provided. The oven itself was full of ash and soot sticking everywhere. The vent did not work either, we tried with a very small piece of wood and the room was full of smoke within two minutes. (Please note, that we are used to ovens/open file places, so it wasn't out first time). Also it being winter it was extremely inconvenient to have to go outside to the toilet/shower. The other toilet is on the other side of the "amenity" block.
Summary: Lovely property with a lot of history and charm. Will be 10/10 with a bit love and work
