The villas are also near the zoo, Ali Barbour's Cave, numerous cafes and shopping centres, and curio shops. The closest beach to the villas, Mvureni Beach, has an outstanding restaurant with seafood grills and friendly service. Ukunda air strip is 15 minutes away by car, and the ferry to Mombasa is one hour away. The hosts, a mother and daughter duo, are friendly, fluent in English and Swahili, and conversational in French.
