The Woodland Cottage provides a unique chance to experience life in the breathtaking Appalachian Mountains within a secluded setting. You will find a queen-sized bed for your comfort, and if you would like to utilize the daybed as well, please let us know. A $25 linen fee will be collected upon arrival via check or cash.
Located mere 10 yards from a serene mountain brook and at the edge of an expansive 800-acre forest, the sounds of nature envelop you with melodies from birds, amphibians, tree crickets, howling coyotes, barking foxes, and babbling waters. The elevated 10' x 34' deck overlooks the forest and stream, with a covered section allowing you to enjoy the outdoors even on rainy days.
Inside, the cottage features a fully equipped kitchen ready for your culinary creations, a dining area with a table and chairs, and a comfortable living room with reading chairs and a gas fireplace (available seasonally from Labor Day through Mother's Day weekend). The den, currently furnished with a daybed and chairs, can easily transform into a movie-watching space.
This rental is perfect for 2 adults or a couple with one child aged 12 or under. The bedroom boasts a queen-size pillow-topped mattress along with side tables and a dresser, while the living room contains a twin daybed. Accessibility is considered, with an ADA-compliant entry and bathroom featuring a spacious roll-in shower—please inquire ahead of time regarding a shower chair.
Outside, you'll enjoy a large covered and open deck complete with a dining area, gas grill, and comfortable seating. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the gas grill is available for your use, alongside a fire ring with wooden benches for evening gatherings. We provide firewood for your campfire, ensuring cozy nights under the stars, with additional supplies available for a modest fee. Two rustic benches are placed in secluded spots for those seeking solitude or intimate conversations.
Heating and air conditioning maintain your comfort year-round, with a gas fireplace to warm the space from Labor Day Weekend in September through Mother's Day Weekend in May. Please note that smoking is not allowed indoors, and we regret to inform you that pets are not permitted.
