Positive: The location (once found) was amazing. So quiet and secluded, in the heart of the mountains with a stunning lake view. It really felt like a secret Welsh cottage. The fire was cozy and we loved the old setting and tradition of the cottage. The bedding was clean and nice quality and the sofa was comfy after a big day on the hills. Plenty of seating options and well provided kitchen/cooking facilities. Lovely touch with some flowers left in vases too.
Negative: The instructions to find the place! The instructions are out dated; the gate has changed (no longer pass coded), the yha is no longer in use, provide more detail that you go past the old yha etc and how far. Once in the property, the welcome booklet is outdated and has so many renditions of access codes and how to work the heating, but the thermostat has been updated etc. Towels were not provided but luckily we brought some extra but not ideal as it wasn't stated (assumed towels because bedding provided). There could be more descriptions about the place, such as access track is rugged (but totally fine) and you can't necessarily park directly at the cottage (100 meters or so, not far at all) but those with mobility issues may struggle. The location and views make up for it though!
