Den ligger høyt og vakkert på 850 moh ved foten av Måsåfjell og solsiden av Gaustatoppen. Panoramautsikt over Gaustaknea, Åråhovde, Bonsnos og Vindeggen. Fra stuen kan vi også se toppen av Gaustatoppen.
Fra Tuddal sentrum hvor den nye døgnåpne butikken ligger, tar det ca 10min opp til hytta.
Det er flotte skiløpere og et veldig bra løypenett som starter 100m fra hytteveggen. Bare spenn på skiene utenfor døren. Løypekart henger på veggen i hytta. Det tar deg ca 20min rolig spasertur på ski til Tuddal Høyfjellshotel som absolutt er verdt et besøk på turen sommer som vinter. Tuddal Høyfjellshotel har eget bakeri hvor det er mulig å kjøpe nybakt brød. Det er om sommeren også en cano8 tilgjengelig ved lekkasjen i nærheten av hytta.
