Immerse yourself in a massive hot tub with gorgeous Mountain View’s on the deck of the Main Lodge, that can easily fit 8 adults.
The entire Main lodge of the Sohum Mountain Ranch is available for renting as one space, allowing you to enjoy about 7500 square feet of unique architectural details. This space runs across four levels with 7 bedrooms plus the Loft recreation and sleeping area. With 6.5 bathrooms, and open architecture, a big group of up to 26 people can be accommodated. The lower basement level is included in the daily rental rates and has laundry facilities, Direct TV, another commercial kitchen and living/ dining space besides having three bedrooms with two shared bathrooms. Please note that the daily rental rate is for group sizes up to 14 guests. There will be a $100 daily fee for Additional guests over 14, irrespective of the number of days your head count changes. There is a minimum 3 day stay required for bookings at the Main Lodge.
In the upper three levels of the Main Lodge, Enjoy deep soaker tubs in the 4 main bedrooms and admire the mountain views in comfort and luxury or relax in the massive hot tub under the stars. For long term summer rentals or fall hunting seasons, special packages are available that allow you to bring your horses and dogs - have them stabled or have access to our open kennel for flat rates for reservations with stays of more than 3 weeks. The Main Lodge of the Sohum Mountain Ranch is an exclusive mountain chalet full of quaint surprises for the discerning traveller. Wedding planners, Movie studios, Advertising companies and Fashion outfits have been using this space historically for photo shoots, destination weddings and corporate events, under the Mountain Spirit Ranch before new ownership started in June 2019. With 30 foot high ceilings framing a gorgeous river stone fireplace, the living room sets the tone creating a welcome space with unique architectural details. Timber harvested from the tobacco factories across the Southeast going back about 100 plus years, with tongue n groove details wow all guests as you enjoy the luxurious appointments including cathedral ceilings, a 16 seater custom dining room table, floor to ceiling windows, heated floors, 2 commercial kitchens with gadgets that would satisfy the most demanding chef and a wine fridge to store your favorite vinos! Located in the scenic Chromo valley, the Sohum Mountain Ranch is a nature lover’s paradise. "Chromo" in Greek means colorful- which is how this scenic area got its name from the Price Family.
Renting the main lodge gives you the additional perk ( subject to availability and owner discretion) to access the surrounding ranch property for nature walks, hiking or fishing on the Navajo river. You can also rent the outdoor areas, that are allowed for guest access, for private events including weddings for up to 200 people, for a separate venue fee. The property has two homes of which the Main Lodge (vrbo listing 1675937) with 7 bedrooms and 6.5 baths, is available for rentals and special events. You have access to this Main Lodge and the surrounding 117 acre private ranch property (subject to owner discretion on property areas that will be made accessible for guests outside the Main Lodge) that sits at the base of the Continental divide just 35 -45 minutes from Pagosa Springs, and Wolf Creek in CO. Chama, NM is only 28 miles and the airports at Durango & Alamosa CO are about 1.5 hours drive. Currently we do not have horses on the property but have barn and stable available to host your horses and any other pets for a flat fee depending on duration of stay. Outfitters and guides are available also to plan out trail rides and camping in the mountains or organize a fly fishing day on our banks of the Navajo river. You can also enjoy tubing, rafting and swimming in the river depending on the season.
Please note that there is no air conditioning at the Main lodge as we are at almost 8000 ft altitude. Floor fans are provided in every bedroom to provide additional cool air during any hot summer days while the nights are always cool with mountain breezes.
Whether you are an avid hiker, star gazer, horse rider, naturalist or a bird watcher, this unique property will result in rich experiences of the local fauna and flora surrounded by national forests. Wildlife abounds with elk, deer, bear, bob cats & coyotes spotted frequently along with birds like the bald eagle, golden eagle, red tail hawks & humming birds, to name a few. If you are lucky you may spot the occasional mountain lion or wolf also.
This is a completely non smoking property and no smoking is allowed on the premises or the surrounding land. You can request for meal services or a private chef and we can organize a custom menu for an additional charge. If requesting such a meal plan in addition to the Main Lodge reservation, we can also offer delicious meals with vegetarian, gluten free, fish and dairy options and a separate plan can be created on request for a full service experience so you can focus on just enjoying your vacation. This is the perfect venue for that intimate destination wedding, or family reunions, alumni meets & corporate retreats. Yoga sessions and teacher training have been hosted here historically and its a popular destination for spiritual retreats and shamanic rituals or, you can get away from it all and just slow down, recharge and rest here.
