Summary: We enjoyed our stay at this cabin, particularly as a base for hiking in the Peaks of Otter area. We were within a 25-minute drive of Sharp Top Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway and Peaks of Otter Lodge/Winery. The cabin is also close to Bedford for ease of restaurants/grocery stores and proximity to Gross Apple Orchard for fall apple picking. Our favorite aspect of the cabin was the porch for morning coffee and the fire pit for evening roasting marshmallows. We appreciated the firewood provided. The kitchen was fairly well equipped. We would have liked to have had either a dishcloth or sponge provided for washing dishes. There is a Kuerig for coffee...so make sure that you bring your own pods. Plenty of towels were provided in the bathrooms which we also appreciate. Just make sure to bring your own soap. TV and wifi worked just fine. My only grip is with the vacuuming. We had to move a small sofa over to accommodate all the family. When we did, there was a lot of dust/food/dead bugs underneath. I ended up having to sweep the area as it was too much to just leave there. I would make the suggestion that sofa cushions and furnititure be moved and vacuumed on a more regular basis. Overall we like the cabin and would return. Thanks!
