Positive: This is a great place for a beach holiday, enjoying the markets and exploring the area. There is enough to do in Barneville-Carteret but we did also drive to Portbail, which is worth visiting. I loved the combination of going to the beach for a daily swim walking our dog by the estuary and by the bridge (which goes to Carteret) there is a deep pool that is excellent to swim with or without dogs. I recommend going to the day and evening markets in Barneville and going across to Carteret. I had some reservations about the outdoor toilet, but this was no problem at all. The whole property is cleaned to an exceptionally high standard, including the outdoor toilet. There is an outdoor light that activates, so it's easy to use 24 hours. I noticed that some reviewers didn't like using the kitchen sink as the bathroom sink too. We didn't have an issue with this, as it's a large sink and easy to use for dual purpose. This property is very well designeda and tasefully decorated to function as a beach holiday summer house. There are features that really make it work well. For example: An outdoor hose for cleaning shoes, wetsuits, our dog. Good outdoor furniture with parasol for shade and BBQ. Washing machine and indoor or outdoor drying lines Plenty of storage space Good coffee machine and cooking facilities I wasn't sure about the shower in the living room area before staying but is an excellent shower and works with the beach summer house vibe. The spacious fenced garden worked really well for our dog.
Negative: A couple of summer loungers or deck chairs would be a nice addition to the outdoor area. This was not a hardship though, as the beach is so close!
