Summary: Positives: The hotel is quite nicely situated, outside Rethymno, but with a bus station just in front. It is having direct access to the beach. Its layout is nice, with its small buildings with alleys in between. And it has 2 swimming pools, a poolbar and a nice terrace in front where you can relax after a day at a beach.The staff is very friendly and the prices they practice are decent, but can be better since what you get there is not 4-star level.. Negatives: in my opinion, Jo An Beach is not a 4-star hotel and I do not understand how they keep their 4-star rating. I say this from the perspective of how the rooms look like and the restaurant (including food). It needs an upgrade in both areas, rooms being furnished like 20 years ago and the food quality and diversity is closer to 2-star hotels than 4.
