Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Beautiful very quiet location in a traditional guest house. Ample parking. The hostess Angelique was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for her. The Gasthaus is in a very small hamlet in the countryside, good for walks. No facilities in a walk able distance but there is a bar available for guests which was very useful. Breakfast was served each morning and included home made jams which were delicious. We also had dinner one evening which saved driving into the town. There are not many cooking implements in the room and no toaster so being able to have breakfast and dinner on site was an advantage. Pottenstein itself is very pretty and the castle is worth a visit for the views. The area is very scenic and worth visiting.
Negative: The kitchenette was modern but the rest of the furnishings were rather dated. It did not spoil our stay at all but don't expect a modern apartment.
Summary: Traditional German Gasthaus with a fabulous hostess.
