Positive: The flat itself was excellent—spacious, modern, and very comfortable. The view over Shanghai’s skyline and towers was outstanding. The facilities and rooms were in great condition. The neighborhood had plenty of small shops, supermarkets, and restaurants, which gave us everything we needed without being too busy. My wife even said she could imagine living there, which shows how much we enjoyed it.
Negative: The payment process was confusing. Booking.com says you should not pay outside their system, but the host could not accept payment via Booking. This left us worried it might be a scam until we clarified things. WHich actually i have not until today. Our arrival was stressful. After a 12-hour flight, there was no key or token where it should have been. We waited over an hour before getting the entry code. During our whole stay we never received a proper entry token and had to go through the garage, which felt spooky for the kids. The metro is about 14 minutes away, and local navigation apps weren’t helpful with bus connections. We were told we were “upgraded,” but that meant being in a different flat than originally booked, which caused some confusion with addresses and even led us to the wrong place once.
