Situated on a hill overlooking the picturesque village of Filoti,Almond Blossom Cottage sits nestled quietlyamongst trees and brightly coloured bougainvillea. The scent of wild aromatic herbs wafts off themountains, and the toll of church bells can be heard in the distance. Almond Blossom Cottage is newly renovatedand consists of two fully self-contained units, making it ideal for friends and families who wish toshare their holiday experience but also enjoy some privacy. Each unit contains 2 bedrooms, 1 kitchenand 1-2 bathrooms. Almond Blossom Cottage welcomes families, couples and groups, with space to comfortablyaccommodate up to 9 persons.
The space
Almond Blossom Cottage offers a beautiful escape. It invites you to relax in the garden with friends enjoying themountain view, to share family dinners on the veranda, to experience a taste of traditional villagelife as it once was. The stylish interior has been decorated in a mixture of boho and contemporarystyles, offering both traditional comfort and modern amenities.

A/C:Thanks to its thick traditional stone walls the cottage is insulated from the heat during summerand the chill in winter. Guests are encouraged to save energy by using the A/C and fans only whennecessary.
Free WifiThe internet speed is 100mps, as is common on most Aegean islands. We have done ourbest to ensure reliable internet access for our guests, through the installation of additional antennas.

The garden
Next to the cottage there is a 200m² garden with beautiful sunset views, populated with fragrantoregano bushes. Almond and fig trees offer welcome shade from the summer sun. At night, the clearsky above the garden is crowded with stars. Guests are welcome to sample the produce from thevegetable garden. It is the perfect space for children to play in, with a hammock and swing for ourlittle friends to enjoy. The garden and veranda have tables and chairs, creating an ideal environmentin which to relax or work.

Location
The village of Filoti is famous for its beautiful olive groves and quaint Byzantine churches. Everysummer the village hosts Naxos island’s largest traditional festival, or “glendi”, a three-daycelebration with dancing and feasting beginning on August 15th. The village is the most populated inthe Cyclades and provides all the services and amenities required by the traveler, including severalsmall supermarkets, pharmacy, ATMs, petrol station, butcher, bakery, doctor, hairdresser, cafes andtavernas.
Lovely Naxos is one of the most populated islands in the Cyclades, with a significant number ofpeople staying on the island year-round. This means that the island does not shut down in winter,services are available throughout the year. Naxos is the largest and most fertile island in theCyclades, with beautiful sandy beaches and pretty traditional villages. There are significanttraditional festivals and cultural events of interest to the traveler which take place every year duringthe summer until September, including the Naxos festival, Wine Festival and Fisherman’s Festival.
In summer Naxos is a convenient launch pad to visiting other islands, without the inconvenience ofreturning to Athens first. There are more than 30 islands accessible within 1-2 hours by ferry, withprices ranging from only 10-20€. Guests can also arrange for a smaller boat The stunning SmallCyclades in particular should not be missed, encompassing the charming islands of Koufonisia,Schinousa, Donoussa, and Iraklia. Every care and effort has been made to make Elaia Cottage as comfortable as possible for ourguests. It has been renovated with care, utilising the highest quality materials available. We arehappy to help in any way we can to make your stay memorable. All we request is that the cottageand its interiors are respected. Repairs can be challenging to organise on the islands, and preventionis better than cure.
Almond Blossom Cottage aims to be environmentally sustainable, with solar panels for electricity andresponsible sourcing of water. Please turn lights and the air conditioner off when not in use, andtake the card which connects the cottage’s electricity when you go out (this will prevent the cottagecatching fire in the event anything is accidently left on in the kitchen).
The cottage has solar power and during much of the year the Cycladic sun offers all the energyneeded. During the cooler months there is a hot water system which can be switched on/off whenrequired.
