Positive: Micaela and her mom were the best hosts – very kind, helpful and attentive. They gave us great tips for our stay in Madeira. The house has a lovely garden and was extremely clean. The beds aren’t large, but they are very comfortable. The location is perfect – very close to the airport, the highway to Funchal, and other destinations. There are also a couple of supermarkets and a bakery just five minutes (or less) away by car.

Negative: Parking is a bit tricky – you have to leave the car on the side of the road (which is common in Madeira), but we weren’t really comfortable with it since we’re not used to parking that way. The house is close to the airport, so you can hear (and see) planes passing by, but it wasn’t a problem for us at all. There aren’t any restaurants or shops within a ‘safe’ walking distance, unless you're willing to walk along the road itself – so you’ll definitely need a car for everything.
