Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: It was self catering. The kitchen/sitting room was spacious with a view over the paddock where the horses grazed - very restful scene! The equipment was fairly modern and perfectly adequate, although some visitors might have liked a microwave. Everything was spotlessly clean, and there was plenty of kitchen cupboard space for my own food items (not always the case in my experience). The large fridge did not have a freezer section, but Michael let me use his freezer in the cellar, which was not a problem at all. The modern bathroom was enormous and very light and everything worked perfectly. The bed was comfortable and there was a huge wardrobe with ample hanging and shelf space. Welcoming host, including huge white dog (Amor) who was very amiable, and no trouble at all.
Negative: There was no bedside cabinet with a lamp, but I was happy to improvise with a chair and my pocket torch. As the horses were in the adjacent barn, there were some flies around, but I had realised beforehand that this might be a drawback, and it was certainly not a serious problem.
Summary: Very relaxing, pleasant environment, with plenty of interesting places (Wangen, Lindau) nearby.
