Positive: The barn itself was fantastic, beautifully furnished and amazing views! The enclosed garden was perfect for our little dog to have a run around. The hot tub was an added bonus for relaxing after a long day walking. Location was great for some dog walks, we went to High Force, and Burnhope Reservoir, and walked along the river into St John's Chapel one afternoon for a few drinks in the dog friendly pubs.

Negative: There were not enough toilet rolls left so we ended up having to purchase some for our stay. Also, we went to use the washing machine to wash muddy clothes after walks but there were no washing pods despite there being a glass pot near the washing machine where they should have been, but it was empty. I realise these are just small issues and both were rectified after a trip to the local co-op. I would say the biggest problem and the reason we wouldn't return is that the accommodation is advertised as dog friendly, but two days before our stay I received an email stating that dogs were not allowed on any furniture in the property, or anywhere upstairs. They even said they would provide a dog cage if needed. When we stay in dog friendly properties, that tends to mean your dog can make itself at home. We have never been told to keep our dog off sofas etc. It made the trip quite stressful at times for us and our pooch. I will probably use specific dog friendly websites to book accommodation in future as they really are dog friendly. If you don't have a dog then this place is perfect though.
