Positive: Good location. The valet was convenient and I’m glad it has the roof that covers since it was raining during our stay. The staff was great and the front desk made me feel like they were doing the best they could to accommodate. The room itself was nice too. I liked how spacious it was and that it had a lot of surfaces to put things on. When traveling, I don’t like to put my stuff on the floor so this was great because you had the little dining table, the space on top of the counter where the tv is, the bench area by the door, and there were even little stands by the night stands. We loved this. The shower tiles were nice too. Great lighting in the room and bathroom. My wife and I loved that there was water at the entrance and we enjoyed the cucumber lime water as that was very refreshing and helped to replenish some much needed electrolytes. The thermostat actually worked well. Most hotel’s thermostats suck and don’t adjust properly, but it do at your property so great job.
Negative: Some of the aspects of this hotel just seemed pretty old and outdated and didn’t fit the modern aesthetic the rest of the hotel gave off. For example, the elevators look like they’re the original elevators from whenever this hotel opened. The elevator would sometimes be annoying when trying to go down too. I can’t recall exactly which elevator it was, but whenever we tried to go back down to the Lobby, we’d press the “L” button but then nothing would happen. We would have to press it multiple times for it to finally take us down.Another example is the wood that lines the walls behind the night stands. These had multiple scratches, legit chips all over it which made it seem old and janky. Not as big of a deal, but I figured it’s still worth mentioning, but the grout in between the tiles of the bathroom were visibly pinkish which indicates clearly there is bacterial growth. Luckily I always bring wipes and I was able to wipe some of that down, but it’s also not my job to clean while I’m on vacation so I didn’t do too much. I’m sure most people don’t even notice this but as someone that likes to keep a clean home, I noticed it. At least doing a legit clean of the shower once a month should help to prevent this. Also, I always check the hotel mattress for bed bugs, non found in my room, but the mattress itself did have multiple stains that looked pretty nasty. Im not saying to buy a new mattress, but maybe cleaning out the stains on beds would be a good idea to help ensure further cleanliness.
