Living room: With multi-fuel burner, 32" Freeview TV, DVD player and beams.
Kitchen/dining room: Farmhouse style with Rayburn and additional induction ring, fridge, freezer, washing machine, beams and tiled floor.. First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed and beams.
Bedroom 2: With 2ft 6in twin beds and beams.
Shower room: with double shower cubicle and toilet. . Oil central heating (£25 pw November-March). Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Inital supply of fuel for multi-fuel burner provided. Travel cot available on request. Telephone-for incoming and emergency calls only. No smoking.. Large enclosed lawned garden with patio, garden furniture and fire pit. 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on leads at all times (sheep country). Parking for 4 cars. Please note: The property has a natural water supply.. Longdale Cottage is believed to be a former gamekeepers cottage on the shooting estate of William Grenfell 1st Baron Desborough. The cottage is situated in beautiful Raydale, a secluded and unspoilt sidedale off Wensleydale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is surrounded by traditional farming country and ringed by high fells. There is also fly and coarse fishing available nearby (licence can be purchased in Hawes). Hawes, with its various shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways, is just 6 miles away, and the village of Bainbridge is just over 4 miles.
In the distance the dramatic peak of Addleborough can be seen and Semerwater, with its beach for swimming off, as well as fishing and canoeing, is is 2½ miles. It is handy for many of the areas famous attractions, including the bustling little market town of Hawes, Semerwater and the pretty villages of Bainbridge and Askrigg, with its pub which was used as the local in the James Herriott series All Creatures Great & Small. Raydale is a haven for wildlife, hares and deer are often sighted in the surrounding fields at dawn and dusk, along with a wide variety of upland bird life including grouse, partridge, curlew and plovers.
There is a winter fuel supplement charge of £25 1st Nov - 1st Friday in March. This is to be paid by BACS 1 week prior to arrival.
