The Samoset Resort, a legendary landmark that has been recently restored, continues a tradition of gracious hospitality and service reminiscent of a bygone era. Choose from roomy and attractive one- or two-bedroom units. All are stylishly furnished and have to air-condition, and kitchenettes with microwaves, refrigerators, and dishwashers. All windows look on the ocean.
Driving into Maine, there's a large sign that declares: Maine -- The Way Life Should Be. Nowhere is that more true than in Rockport, which has a longstanding reputation as an artists' community, with notable artists and art institutions playing a significant role in the town's social life. The Farnsworth Art Museum celebrates Maine's important role in American art and makes a delightful excursion. Also be sure to see the Owl's Head Transportation and Maine Lighthouse Museums, historic homes, and majestic lighthouses. The restaurant and hotel are closed from mid-November to mid-April. With the exception of Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for brunch, school vacation weeks, and Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve through New Year’s Eve.
