On the ground floor of this particularly spacious building there is an entrance with hall and cloakroom. Two large sitting rooms make it possible to split up the group and do different activities. In addition to comfortable chairs and sofas there is also a DVD and CD player, LED TV, Billiards and football tables. There is also a high chair available. There is a separate bar area with beer tap and next to it the dining room. No food without kitchen, so there is a large kitchen with, among other things, an industrial stove with 10 gas burners, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, a large storage room and a cold room. Finally, there is a sanitary room with four toilets, four urinals and four washbasins on the ground floor.On the first floor there are seventeen bedrooms, one of which is a single room, eleven double rooms, a four-person room and two 12-person rooms. The latter are furnished with three four-person bunk beds each. Two bedrooms have a 2-person bunk bed. The other rooms have single or double beds. Five bedrooms have a bathroom with toilet and shower. Eight bedrooms have a sink in the rooms. All rooms have the sanitary room with five toilets, four sinks, three showers and a bathtub.The second floor has six bedrooms: three 1-person bedrooms and three 2-person bedrooms. Three bedrooms are with shower and toilet, and three bedrooms have two communal bathrooms, one with shower and sink and the other with washbasin and toilet.All in all, enough opportunities to spread the group "tailor-made" over the bedrooms. Obviously, there are enough cupboards and separate storage rooms. It is possible to book breakfast and in the nearby Imbiss various snacks and schnitzel are served. Ideal if you do not want to cook for a day.
The most famous attraction in Schleiden is the castle of "Schloss Schleiden", dating from 1188. A portion of the castle which is accessible includes a chapel with an organ from 1770 on display. In this part of the Eifel you’ll find 240 km of hiking trails including the 4-day "Wilderness Trail”, one of Germany’s long distance hiking trails. One route goes through the former Orderenburg Vogelsang (a former military training camp).For cyclists and mountain bikers the Eifel is an El Dorado. For motorcyclists, the beautiful Eifel region is great for touring, not only near the Nürburgring but also in Francorchamps. All trails wind their way through beautiful natural landscapes.The High Fens-Eifel nature area extends from Germany into Belgium and is an area with a variety of landscapes: rivers, streams, lakes and dams, limestone cliffs, ridges of the High Eifel and the volcanic Eifel. You will find caves from the Stone Age, Roman buildings, more than 100 castles, palaces and monasteries, and the now ecologically valuable remains of the Siegfried Line. The spectacular nature with its colorful plants and variety of animals (even moose) is the basis for an active and relaxing holiday in the Eifel.A visit to the fromer Nazi Ordensburg Vogelsang is certainly worthwhile. The historic, monumental building was opened to the public in 2006. Parts of the surrounding area is accessible via footpaths.Also worth seeing is the Urft dam (1900-1905), the oldest dam in the Eifel. At the lake there is an island and three peninsulas, which can be reached on foot depending on the water level. There is a level crossing from Gemünd-Malsbenden, with a walking and cycling route of 12 km which meanders through an unspoiled countryside.
